Dental surgery

Dental surgery deals with treating tooth roots and tissues surrounding them. These include such procedures as teeth and detained teeth extractions (chiseling), resection (tooth tips removal due to inflammation), corrective procedures on soft tissues (gum plastic surgery in case of tooth lowering, upper lip or tongue frenulum incision etc). These are also procedures aimed at improvement of soft tissue condition - before implant insertion or during simultaneous implantation. The procedures also include Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) and Guided Tissue Regeneration (GTR). Various adjunctive materials are apllied together with the procedures, such as bone replacing preparations of animal or syntetic origin and also membranes of various types (the so called prohibitive membranes) - most frequently colagen. You should remeber, though, that all surgical procedures bear with them certain amount of risk. Success of a procedure depends on many factors. Anatomy of the area under surgery, numerous risk factors such as smoking, diabetes, decrease in organism immunity - often caused by by other sicknesses, and also post surgery time all may influence the final result. Not everything, though, depends on a surgeon and the patient must be aware of that.

Every surgery is followed by the anti edema procedure known as hilotherapy. Directly after a procedure a mask with water in proper temperature is placed on the facial area which has undergone surgery. It decreases tissue edema after operation to a large extend.
